Dress Designing and Making Technology is offered at various technical institutes. It has been designed to teach students to apply knowledge of dress designing and making at the professional, practical, and personal levels. It is the bridge between the modern and traditional. Various prerequisite and related subjects are introduced such as Embellishment, Sewing and Patron, Fashion Designing, Textile Techniques, CAD (Computer Aided Designing), Hand and Machine Embroidery. Some other subjects are also involved to broader the horizon of the knowledge like English, Urdu, Pak-studies, Islamite; Marketing and Merchandising; Entrepreneurship and Business Management.
The curriculum is divided into three years and in the last, Third, year students have an opportunity to excel in Fashion Designing or Ready to Wear by selecting one optional subject as per their aptitude. The offered course provides professionalization opportunities through credits by internship.
